We built 4 LE controllers and at least 2 but maybe all of them do not receive any data/DMX in. Controllers power on fine, and all channels light up in test mode. Dongle has tested fine and gets DMX. Took it to Lineman's house tonight and the ohms tested fine. Connectors are all touching. Solters on back have been retouched. What could it be? I got the kits in a coop. Thanks.

is the DMX comms LED on?

Lots of things,
Could you post some pictures?

Here are pics. First two are of one. Second two are of another controller. Note that the second one has scorch marks in the box from getting zapped turning it off in the rain.
On another note, my dongle worked fine over at Lineman's house and could control his show. But I don't think I ever successfully downloaded the dongle driver on my pc. Had trouble with the link in the Wiki. Anyone have a direct link for Win7? I also looked on the site but didn't know if is VCP or D2XX? Thanks.

And no the DMX light does not light up on either.

Try this link
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM20802_Setup.exe
It will install the FTDI drivers needed. Its for all versions of windows
Hope that helps

For the best tech support Teamspeak is your friend
If you are willing to set it up. Please read the wiki for setup.
http://diylightanimation.com/wiki/index.php?title=Software#TeamSpeak_Chat
Then either PM RJ to setup a time or catch him in teamspeak. Most nights after his show runs.
Cheers

After the test do you have the ZC light on ? Do you have the DMX light on with the Dongle hooked up and data going to it.
Did you try these at linemans house?
RJ

Yes, ZC light is on, but data light never comes on. Data light would not come on at Lineman's house either.
Thanks for the driver link. Installed!

Just to help out I forgot to put the jumper on the 2 pin header the one for remove for wireless , they are hard wired and not wireless , I am wireless this is why it escape me. Deaana once you get the drivers installed put the blue jumper on the 2 pin header I don't know if that is why your led didn,t come on I'll let the pro,s tell you sorry for missing that the other night <fp.

The 2 LE's are not wireless and need the jumper added, you only remove the Wireless jumper on the unit that has the RX attached. Also the Terminate jumper on the wireless LE should be added.
Make sure you use the DMX2 Out jack to connect another LE to the unit with the wireless.
On the last LE on the wireless link also add the terminate jumper because you are using the DMX2 out and must be terminated.

^correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the wireless jumper is added only if you're plugging in an EX/RX, not an RX. Using an RX is just like plugging in a wired cat5 connection.

I agree
The wireless jumper should be REMOVED if the EX/RX option is added. Using an external RX/TX has no bearing.
If you do NOT have the EX/RX daughterboard, THEN ADD the jumper.
If you ADD the EX/RX daughterboard, then REMOVE the jumper.
