I hate to be a broken record, but the SSC only supports the nodes bought through this site.
There are several different chips, voltages, and data rates for RGB LED strings. The intent here at DLA is to avoid all of the confusion by saying if you use our hardware and buy the nodes listed in the wiki, everything will work.
If you plan on buying different nodes, they may not work with the DLA stuff, and there are no plans to add that support later...
