Not to get you confused regarding LED lights. There are so many terms with regards to LED lights. A
node refers to a RGB module consisting of 3 leds, red, green, and blue, which you can control individually if they have IC controller in the module or node. While the first types of LED that is used for light strings consist of 1 led per light and most are commonly connected serially.
Right now IMHO, LED nodes are mostly made in China and their quality is not that good. They focus mainly on quantity than quality. Maybe as time goes by, their quality will improve. Right now I'm using incandescent lights (or incans in DIY lingo) and led strings of 1 color mostly white. Try to go to Ray Wu's website and see the different led RGB nodes and led strings.
Hope this shed a little bit of light. Here is another tip for you to understand more about RGB pixels or nodes. There are videos explaining just about anything with regards to RGB nodes.
