WTB: 20-gauge 4-conductor wire
« on: May 10, 2012, »
I'm not able to find what I want in local nerd stores... can someone suggest a place to get 4-conductor 20-gauge wire?  I'd like to run lengths from MR16s to dumb strings.

Ray Wu's store would work, but I'd prefer faster.

if you have extra wire from a previous purchase from Ray, let me know.

This is 22 gauge. I plan to use this for my MR16 runs to dumb strips. $37 for 500 ft.

4 wire intercom wire.   radio shack some and it even has an additional clear coating on top of the 4 seperate color conductors.

or even 4 wire thermostat wire.

How many MR16's do you have, you might want to wait until RJ come out with the RGB Dumb String Controller, this way you can use CAT5 wire. But not sure when that will be.

Thanks, guys!

I have 2 MR16s, and one Ray Wu 27 channel.
But I also have 100+ 3-channel controllers.

RJ's new controller interests me, but I have enough SSCs to build, and I haven't started my LEs yet. :)
a waterproof, pre-built item for $8 interested me a lot!

This may be a little heavier wire but if you have a Norther tool nearby it should work.

I use thermostat wire which is available everywhere. However, it is solid and I think stranded would be better - as it would not put as much stress on the connections during put up and take down.
