Where to get controller enclosures?????
« on: December 01, 2010, »
Ok, I'm at a loss now...  I just called YourBroadbandStore to order an enclosure for my LE, and was just told that they are not selling to the public anymore.  If you were recently able to GET a single enclosure, count yourself lucky.  They now have a 25 piece minimum order limit.  The single order thing was part of a 'promotion'.  The person I spoke to was NOT really nice, and wasn't all that wiling to help out.

I need ONE MORE enclosure for my LE, and I've got NO idea where to get it.   >:(

Hi Roger

Yeah for some reason they don't want our business anymore. I don't know why with the present economy.

Doing a google search for Keptel-CG1500

I came across this company. Understand I have no clue about them if they are a good or bad. I do know the price seems to be high at $20 for the case and another $10 for shipping and handling for one case. If you plan to order from them please check them out first. Payment is with PayPal

I ordered my CG-1500 enclosures from Evolution Digital in CO.  They had prices comparable to yourbroadbandstore.com and were willing to work with me on small orders.  I'm not positive but I think the CG-1500 cases came 6 to a carton but I ordered 10 and they had no problem with my order.

Here's a link to the CG-1500 - You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

They also used to stock the CG-1000 and the CG-500 (which is the one listed in the MR-16 DC Controller BOM).  This was the only place I found the CG-500 when I ordered them previously.  The link above shows these two as links on the right side so I'm guessing they still have these available.

I would give them a call and see what they have to say.

Allen, what was their price on keptel 1500 enclosure?

I'm pretty close, so I could pick them up in person.

I picked up my order from mybroadband a couple years back and they seemed to be in about the same part of town.

I couldn't find the paperwork for them but I seem to recall that they were about $10.00 - $12.00 ea after I paid for shipping.  I did order 10.  I'd give them a call and get a current quote.

I will probably be contacting them to get some CG-500's for my MR-16s.

I remember getting mine for like $8 each a couple years back, and it was less for 6+ qty.

Ask them if they have any surplus boxes for local pickup?

Chris Foley is selling the standard enclosures that YBBS used to sell on his web site ... prices are a bit higher than YBBS, but we finally figured out whey theirs were so low: they were losing money.

DFC does carry the TL-200, but they require purchases in lots of 45.  They stock an ML-200 case which is close and other users have modified to make work, but he Foley Christmas site above may be a better choice for now.  I would recommend the DFC site for the CG-1500 enclosures, though, as there are no quantity requirements for that.
