DSC max nodes
According to Rays site the "drive current per piece" on the dumb nodes is .24 each. If I convert to amps. I can do 150x.24=36 watts at 12 volt is 3 amps. Does this sound correct?

If you can chat with Ray. Double check with him.  If you can't post the link, and I can ask him.

The link is the 100 dumb string from the wiki. Thanks for all your help. I just don't want to fry a DSC. I would just add another Dsc if I had room on my active hub.

from Ray.   100 pieces is 24W

each node is .24w

so max is 200pieces (without giving your supply breathing room)
running the supply at 80% gives you 160 nodes.
running the supply at 90% gives you 180 nodes.

supply as in from the DSC.

Make sure the power rating is not for one color. If so you are calculating power for each color and white will be 3 times that much.

Thanks everyone. These will never run full "on" as in pure white. In my show they will only run green, red, and a warmish white(150,83,20) or so. Those numbers aren't exact but you get the point. I am going to try 150 tomorrow and let it run for a bit and see what happens. Would the DSC just get hot?

It it truly is 8W per color then I should be fine with 150. I will check the the amperage with a meter on the 100 strand and see if I can get a true reading.
