EtherDongle support with xLights?
« on: September 24, 2011, »
Reading RJ's message today in You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login  the EtherDongle has exited Beta.

Will xLights work with the EtherDongle without change?  Is there an estimate on how long before this might become enabled in xLights?

I suspect that I should not wait for the EtherDongle, as manufacturing lots of PCBs will take time.  But its soon arrival has me question whether I should get (3) Lynx dongle/pixelnet units, or wait longer for the EtherDongle.

Thanks!
Steve

if you go with the usb dongle route - don't forgot about a combiner - it will take up to 4 dongle outputs and merge into 1 cable to head out the hubs - otherwise dongle1 > hub, dongle2 > hub etc with separate cables....  using the combiner will let you daisy chain the hubs using the pixelnet output plug to the input of the next hub.....
