Title: Smart String Quality
Post by: inzeos on April 23, 2012,
I know early on there were many issues with the fabrication and assembly of the SS from Ray.

I vaguely recall a few posts talking about the fact that he was redoing some of the SS in regards to how the fabricate and assemble them.

Has the general quality of the product received direct increased?  Do they still need to be weatherized as an additional step?

The ip68 waterproofing seemed to be pretty good. He sent me 1 string right before Christmas and that strand stood up to 3 rainstorms. The other strands from early last year did not do well at all even though I did the thinned down plasti-dip procedure. He agreed to take all my original nodes back and sent me the ip68 version in January. I think they will work way better. I would specify the ip68 when you order.
