i have a version TWO le would like to know if possible to upgrade to version 5 what are the circuit differences.

I don't believe ver 1 was ever released to the public. Maybe you have ver 2.
But ver 5 has snubber circuit for LEDs and it has a on board splitter and wireless port.
This page shows some changes of each version of the LE

YOUR RIGHT IT IS A VER 2

If you have a Ver2 and it works then leave it alone. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The Ver2 has all the features necessary to make your lights blink and can do it as well as the Ver5. The Ver5 has a few features that many of us really don't really need and the Ver2 has everything that you do. If you nee wireless, you can always use the standalone unit.

or even use the wireless mod, like the ssr4, or mr16

You can do that but if you do then like the SSR4, it will be the only unit in the string. If all you need is one on that string then you can save yourself a few bucks by doing what Chris said.
