Thank you RJ and Friends
« on: March 25, 2011, »
Just wanted to say thanks you to RJ and the others who have contributed to this site  <res.
I built my first Express and IT WORKED  ;D  This was my first time at soldering a board and thanks to RJ's Video and the info found here It worked.
The only hang up I have was a triac that I soldered 2 leads together but was able to fix it. Now 2 more to go.
RJ your the Man. <res.

I for one am very thankful for RJ and others here at DLA who sacrifice there precious time to all me to add to my blinky-flashy.  As the songs says "You don't know what you got till it's gone".

Glad you were successful and thanks!

But watch for the second one the extra confidence can get you sometimes. (I know what I am doing i don't need no stinking manual!).

Hey why does my second one not work!!  I have seen that many times.    <wd..

that is correct RJ, I switched the 3.3v and the 5v triacs... what a mistake..  I was able to trouble shoot the error and just completed my
2cnd one and like the first, works great now.. Patience is the key for more blinkys.. thanks again RJ.. <res.

Well said, I have made my own units before from scratch, I have made PCBs before and none of that compared to each of the Lynx products that I have assembled; I am not quite a caveman but like Geico it was so easy that I could do it.

I chaperoned a birthday sleep over for my 9yo son lastnight (13 boys).  They decided to stay up all night so in turn I made 2 clocks, 5 dongles and 2.5 LEs.  All of which were successful builds (although I had to trouble shoot and flip around chips on the first clock to get proper function).

Great job making the Lynx for dummies kits.
