Title: Icing issues

Hey All,
Just had a thought as I'm working on '11's lay out.
Have any of you had issue with icing on your trees/ displays/ support guy wires?

I'm in WI and we get the funky drizzly rain/sleet thing frequently and am curious how it has been delt with.

When I flew airplanes back in my young, skinny, cool days...Ice was always a factor.
Sometimes it was so bad, we had to de-ice the wings that accumulated while it was tied down, before engines on!

This is my fist year with >10' displays and folowing the old saying, "go big or go home" philosophy, looking to do a "how did he get that up so high" star (~30').
I have the way, just curious about any ice build up/weight issues.

All ice has ever done for me is difuse the lights a bit and make them pretty :)

I also figure the 40 mph winds will take care of the ice problems  :-\

We used to spray WD-40 on areas we could not reach. When I lived in Kansas. WD stands for Water Displacement and it will not let any water hang on to build ice. I do not think I would spray on bulbs. One good dust storm and that would get ugly.
