Title: Strings Directional?

are the regular smart string nodes directional?  I couldnt get them to light while programming an SSC so i hooked up the other end and they worked.  something similar happened on another set i had as well.  this was a string of 128.

Yes they are.  The input is the chip side of the nodes.
