Addicted to lights or what
« on: March 31, 2011, »
My Wife and Mother-In-Law think a am addicted to this Blinky Blinky thing. Every where I go I look for thinks that I can use for my christmas display next year. I have been working on my JUMP Mega Tree a for a few months buying a little here and there. I finally have the pole created just need to get a couple of things for it. Went to the 99 cent only store and picked up 10 things from the garden area that when upside down will be used for my mini trees (pics to come). just trying to get things built while I can. Am I addicted or WHAT. If your addicted let me know, Hope im not alone. PS I know RJ and his dad are :D, maybe they are trying to make us all addicted. ;)

I am with you. Planning a large display takes a long time though. With everything needing to be done, it is never too early.

This is a great thread:)

My kids and coworkers give me a bad time because I am always referencing Christmas light projects, but hey, a big display takes time:)

The funniest thing I heard was in January my children were talking about when my wife and I get older.  The conversation turned into a discussion on what they would do with us.

My one child said that they could put me in a home and as long as they had a lot of Christmas lights I would be happy!

I laughed, but after the fact was taken aback that they would put me in a home......  or even think of it:)

I am not that old yet:)

Mike.

Could be worse Mike!

My wife and her two sisters have always joked around with their dad that when he became a burden and or lost his memory they would take him to the mall (and leave him there).  However, it makes for good times when one of his daughters tries to get him to go to the mall to help with errands and what not.

I am not addicted to christmas lights, I am merely spreading holiday joy and wonder.  Yeah she laughs when I say it too.

Fortunately, my kids don't laugh because every year when it tis the season all of their classmates mention to them that they saw our house, parked outside for 20 minutes or what not.  Therefore my kids are the first to agree when I discuss adding new elements.  Heck, yesterday my 9 year old glued joints on pvc trees while wearing his baseball uniform after a game.  Boys of summer unite!

Sure there is a cure.  You must rid yourself of all temptation as the first step.  Send me all of your lights and controllers and I will see to it that they are disposed of properly.    ;D
If at first you don't succeed,
your not cut out for sky diving

remember, you cant send hazardous waste (lead) across state lines knowing that they'll be thrown away.  send them to me instead...  they stay in state   : )
