6' x 4' Light Diffuser
« on: April 21, 2011, »
I'm doing 6x4 multi color light panels using net lights.  I'd like some kind of diffuser so it looks less like net lights and more like pure lights I guess.  The colors don't blend at all right now and a diffuser may or may not help, but I still think it would look better.

My best though is thin white fabric.  Anything else cheap that somebody may have used?

Clear Cloroplast also comes to mind if it exists and if it is cheap (which I doubt) since it has ridges in it???

Thanks

That could work.  Thanks.  I'll probably start with fabric for the cheaper price but if not that could be perfect.  Great find

How about a sheet of acrylic (plastic glass)

They come in different thickness and sizes.

Cheers

Sounds like a neat idea. You might try corrugated plastic roofing. It is ribbed and available in clear and translucent white at Lowes or Home Depot.

I have heard that the plain shower curtain liners  (the ones that are "milky white )work well as diffusers.

If you are putting them in a framed panel, they sell rolled plastic in different colors at some craft stores. Ima using it on my nutcracker. Looks awesome.

You could always try painters plastic sheeting or plastic drop cloths for something a little less permanent...
