Title: RockinChristmas 2014 videos
Post by: taybrynn on December 22, 2014,
I didn't both making the audio any good, but I did take this video with my my iphone 5 last night, from the dash of my truck at dusk.  It turned out fairly decent, but sorry about the Audio.  This sound was meaningful to me and seems to bring  meaning of Christmas back into focus in my show this year.  Merry Christmas everyone!

You're Here - Francesca Battistelli

Using 100% DLA equipment and close to 32k channels of pixelnet.

Thanks RJ and everyone at DLA for making this possible.
Thanks to Sean and Matt for xlights and nutcracker as its amazing and so much easier than anything I've used in the past.
This is my fourth year using xlights, second using nutcracker effects.

Great work as always!

I mentioned to you privately how much we enjoyed your show.  You definitely had the best use of a RGB matrix/mega tree that we saw (IMHO.)

Will you video the voiceover(s) at some point?  Would love to add it to my "portfolio."

Can't wait for next year's!

Thanks.  Just update the URL as I added better audio.   http://vimeo.com/115214024 (http://vimeo.com/115214024)

The big megatree has 24 pairs of verticals, and each is 64 nodes tall.  So the big pixel tree is 48x64.  The two smaller pixel tress are 42 nodes high and 24 verticals each, so 24x42 .  The pictures are obviously better on the bigger treee ... but most other effects are similar on both.

I also added a video of the Frozen (Snowman) song below:

i was not really interested in a RGB/mega tree until seeing your trees.
very inspiring.

Do you have any "how to" videos on building your RGB/mega trees

I stopped by to see the show tonight. Wow! Your mega trees looked outstanding and I really enjoyed the song selection this year. Nodes or flexstrips on the trees and the matrixes.

Nodes in everything ... Except the arches which are flex strips.   I don't have any how to videos but have been wanting to do a Holdman style walk though after the season is over.

That's an awesome display.  How long does it take you to sequence something like that?

Thanks .   Honestly I spent about 3 hours on frozen (started with timings) and about 3-4 hours on 'you're here' using only nutcracker (did my own timings) ...

The reason I ask is that my neighbor has expressed a lot of interest in adding his house to my display. Which would be great since my front yard is so small.
Do you sequence it as one giant "canvas" or in two separate?

I do all the sequencing ... His job is hanging lights and plugging in.   It's all controlled by me.  He understands what I call everything and helps in testing and trouble shooting
