Title: Need 4 conductor wire for DSC

I'm looking for suggestions for 4 conductor wire to use with the DSC.   I need to add some lead wire to go from the DSC to the lights.  I am only using dumb strings for the stars on top of my trees.  I have not been to the local Home Depot or Radio Shack yet.  Just looking for suggestions.  I only have 4 DSC so do not need much wire.

I do not know how far of a distance I can go from controller to lights, i.e.,  lead-in length.  by mega tree is about 17ft high with the star on top of that.  I would really like to keep the controllers no more than 5 ft from the ground if that is possible.  So 3 strings with a 10ft lead in would be 30 ft plus one more on my pixel tree of about of about 6ft.  So 40 feet or so in total wire needed.  I wonder if I could find something in the US instead of having to go to China for it.

I bought a 100ft roll of 4 conductor speaker wire from Monoprice.com. It came today. Very nice. 20 gauge, stranded, so it will handle my four Dumb Strings on my 3-D mega tree star.

Pictures tomorrow. My tree is also 17 feet tall, so I'll cut 4 20ft pieces.

Here is what I am using & it is working great. Make the white wire the blue one.

The problem with buying it from him is the shipping, especially if it is the only thing that you are buying.

The problem with buying from Ray is that I havn't gotten a response in the last 4 days and I have emailed and started a chat session with him. Anyone happen to have 2 extra smart string flex strips and a few waterproof connectors?

Well nevermind I was able to get ahold of Ray via chat this morning. He had sent me an email quote that I never received. He resent it and all is well.

Having installed the wire today, the 18ga wire was probably overkill. 20 or 22 would have been ok, but I was a bit worried about voltage drop on a 20foot run at 12vdc (50 dumb pixels per channel)

Yes,

18 was probably overkill for just 20 feet, if it was a hundered feet then I might begin to worry about voltage drop.

Found this link online and have ordered several pieces.  They will ship USPS Priority mail.  Will let post again once I receive them and try them out.
