Title: no dmx to second LE
Post by: awilliaa on November 28, 2010,
Hope this is a simple fix, trying to daisy chain my LE's, Each controller works fine by itself, but no data link to second LE. Have tried different Cat5 cables, same results.

Out of the "DMX out" or the "DMX out 2" or is this a earlier Express?

I guess I should just say what version express and which out port if it has two?

Had the same problem, turned out I had a bunch of cat-5 reversing cables.  You can tell reversing cables they have green connectors.

You may also want to check how you are terminating them.  Only set the terminate jumper in place on the expresses that have nothing plugged into output 1.

this is the version 5 LE, the cat5 was coming out  of dmx1 with the 2nd LE having the terminate.  rechecked the cat5 and cable is good.

This can only be one of two things.

Missed or bad solder joint on the DMX output Jack

Or

Damaged trace betweent he input and ouput jacks.

The two jacks are connected together so what comes in goes to the other.

Quick check of this is to hook you Dongle up to the output instead of the input and see if the Express stops working. If so but works when hooked to the input then you have your answer.

I had the same problem you did.  Turns out I didn't properly solder all the connections for the RJ-45 connections.  See this thread...

Actually, I re-read your posting and I'm not sure I had the same problem.  Anyway, I'll leave this here for you...
