bench power supply from a ATX power supply
« on: April 28, 2011, »
I have been trying to locate a pcb to make a nice power supply from an old atx pc power supply.  I KNOW about the paperclip trick but I was wanting something nicer.  I have been searching but this is all I can find.

Ron,
You might check with Bill Buehler. I think he had some pcbs for building a ATX power board.

I have made several of the little pcb boards for an ATX Power Supply.  I got the boards from Bill Buehler.  The board with all the parts from Mouser are less than $12.  Simple and easy to put together and includes a switch to turn the power supply on and off.

Thank you Jim.  That is just what I am looking for.  I sent him a PM.  I hope he still has one or two to sell.

Just so we make sure to give credit to the correct person. Bill had some and may have some more. But Aussiephil is the person we must thank for the design. He did them up a few years ago when he was a staff member of DLA and just started to design stuff. It is a handy little pcb.

I was planning to contact AussiePhil and see if he is getting some more of these PCBs made.  I'll let you know what I find out.

He's not even active on his own forum.
