Links for the pipe is in the wiki in the DMX case section  <fp.

I should fix that :)

I didn't use connectors I just wired directly in but most people buy the connectors from Ray Wu

The connectors are great.  I keep one controller flashed with the test hex and I can just move any string of lights to that one to show it off or to use when testing the new strings as I get them.  I even have one connector wired with alligator clips so I can test stuff before I solder the connector on.

Its the thin wall 1" pvc not the schedule 40

Take the pipe back (if possible) and bring the SSC with you to make sure it fits inside the correct pipe.

I'm working on my first SmartStrings too...I never noticed there were connectors available until after I ordered my strings, I'm not sure my budget will allow a second shipment from China, so unless there is a cheap domestic alternate, I think I'll be soldering all mine...

Will,
Lowes looks like they have it in your area, see the pic below.
By the way at my Home Depot it is in the PVC pipe section.

Found it via the link in the wiki:

I was in a different home depot this morning, and found it.
the schedule 40 is NOT the stuff to use, but directly above it (in plumbing) I found the right stuff.  it costs 1/2 the price of the schedule 40, maybe $1.47.  It was indeed 200 PSI PVC Pressure Pipe.  So, look in the same place -- they look nearly identical -- but the wrong stuff was directly below and the right stuff was above.  it would be easy to see it as the same product unless you look at the tag.

If you use the 1" PVC, it has to be the thinwal stuff ... and Colorado (and maybe where you live) its not available at the hardward store.

So I used 1 1/4" pvc and it works great.  The caps are a little bit more $$, but still not bad.  I like the additional room and you don't have to worry about the pvc type either

I was not able to get thin wall PVC.

My solution came from the Dollar store.
For 1$ ea, I got a few spice botlles.
It's one of those rare win/win situations.
I got the bottles the wife kept the contents.
I works great for me.  To compensate for the fact that the bottle only opens from one end, I left more wire in the bottle in order to be able to easily get the PCB out in the event that I need to reprogram it.

Cheers,
Ricardo

Actually I am thinking I like the idea that someone said earlier of both the wires coming out of one end.

My strings came in today.....From China to Texas in one week!!!!
