Smoked Turkey
« on: November 28, 2013, »
Well, I bought a new digital smoker from lowes this past summer and have been smoking ribs all summer. So, I thought I would try a turkey. WOW it was the best tasting turkey we ever had. If you ever have the opportunity to do it I highly recommend it.

On the smoker right now, still couple hours away.    Eat late since my wife worked last night and she's still asleep.

Just a little sweet and smokey rub. No sauce. It's was brining for about 20 hours. Rub was on it in the frige for about 6. 14.5 lbs cooked at 225 degrees for about 7 hours.

13 lbs 6 .5 hours in my smoker my wife bought last year
it is a Weber makes great turkey every time roughly 10 lbs charcoal
the cooking time is great on small birds and my Weber model 731001 will hold 2 turkeys around 13 lbs on two separate racks
