Did you know that we will have unlimited soft drinks and water on hand for all attendees?  We don't want you having to run to a soda machine every time you're thirsty.  We'll also have the concession area open during the lunch and dinner breaks so you can grab a bite without leaving the facility if you choose.

5/23/12: 

13. Did you know that we will have two different classes on using coroplast at this year's Academy?  Anthony Vetrano, the creator of the 10' coro soldiers, will be on hand to talk about design and uses for coro.  Next, David Moore from Holiday Coro will teach you about the "Amazing World of Coro" where you will learn about using coro in the RGB aspects of our hobby.

12. Did you know there will be two classes dealing with the aspects of "Becoming Santa" at this year's Academy?  Santa 101 will cover the basics of Claus, the magic suit, and beards, wigs and makeup.  Santa 201 will help you in dealing with kids (and their parents), Santa photo do's and don'ts, and accessories to help you enhance your presentation for your audience.  This is designed to help the residential decorator become the best Santa they can be.

11. Did you know that there are several classes dedicated to Halloween at this year's Academy?  Props, lighting and utilizing your computer control platform in your home haunt will all be covered by the team from the Dallas/Fort Worth Friends of Halloween and the LSH Halloween Development Committee.

9. Did you know that there will be a two part class about the Etherdongle and Conductor?  RJ from DIY Light Animation will be running these sessions and talking about this exciting part of the DIY Expo at the Academy.

8. Did you ever hear of the Monkhouse JUMP? This innovative piece has helped countless people over the years to get their megatrees up faster and easier. At the 2012 Academy Walter and Jackie will be on hand to show you the HD (as in Heavy Duty) version of the JUMP.

7. In addition to the JUMP, the Monkhouses will be sharing the details of their now famous Colormotions tree.  There is a secret to it all though, and this one simple key element will keep pixels straight and aligned when attached to banding material.  Want to know the secret?  All will be revealed exclusively at the Academy for the very first time ever.  Come and learn from two of the veterans of our holiday hobby.
