Display reads 324
« on: June 02, 2012, »
I have an issue with my Lynx Express board. On power up the display goes through to "Lynx Express 60Hz" but then it says 324. When I first built the board a couple months ago, it read 000 after the power up sequence. Haven't powered it up since then. Nothing is different from before. What would cause this? I also had a question of when powered up, led 6 is dimly lit and when running test, brightness of led 6 doesn't change and led's 10, 11, & 12 don't light at all, but from reading other topics, have came to the conclusion that the pic needs re-flashed.

since it is giving you a start address without you settig one, I would suggest a reflash as the first step.
If at first you don't succeed,

Dim led 6 is a sign of a bad firmware load.
If the character scrolling seems slow, that is also an indicator of a bad firmware load.

Other things can cause these signs, but reloading the firmware is the easiest and usually fixes The problem.

My next step to take is to reload the firmware. I got the board and hardware in the coop in January of this year and have heard that there were a lot of problems with the firmware that was loaded on the pic and reloading the firmware fixed the problem. I'm still confused as to why it is giving me a start address when it wasn't before, but oh well. :) I'll just give reloading the firmware a try and see if it fixes the issue. Thank you.

Had this exact issue on two boards my dad and I just completed....a reflash of both resolved it.
