I am looking to buy a dc bench supply for testing 5 volt and 12 volt rgb strings and found this on ebay anyone know if this will work or suggest another

That supply should work perfectly for what you want it to do. The current limiting is an excelent feature that will save many an electronic component if used correctly and 0 to 30V at 5A will be more than enough for anything going on here.

I have one like it. Works good.
I also like to use old power adapters, cellphone, laptop, printer, etc. And you can find them cheep, if you don't have enough.
Just remember to set you voltage before hooking up to it.
