Title: Aether II controller?
Post by: urthegman on August 06, 2012,
Does an Aether II need to be hooked up to any type of controller? Or can I just hook it up to a 12V power source and send it a signal from a DMX splitter ? What type of controller would I add to my sequences in LSP? Thanks, George

Hi George,

The Aether is a 4 channel DMX device so you could just create a RGB device but you would loose one channel So just creat a new device in LSP that has 4 channels and is DMX controlled.

The Aether is a self contained DMX device.  Give it a starting address, supply it power and hook it up to the DMX data stream and your good to go.

The LYNX Aether II is a DMX device. You can use any DMX device that LSP supports.

It is an RGBW device that takes 4 DMX addresses. You can set the beginning address using the address utility located here: http://diylightanimation.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=2676.0;attach=2607

Is it RGBW in that order, correct?

It's not in the manual or anywhere in the wiki but I would assume that it would be

Address 1 R
Address 2 G
Address 3 B
Address 4 W

User your softwares hardware test to verify this.
