Title: POWER SUPPLY
Post by: kfxi on June 18, 2014,
I have a question,  I am building a ZEUS 16 and plan to use all sixteen channels with 128 pixels on each channel.  What power supply should I use.  Should I use a 12 volt power supply or is it better to use a computer supply?  What is the current draw for this type of configuration.  Where is the best place to get a deal on computer suplie?

Here is a link that explains the power requirements. A full hub with 16 strings of 128 pixels will require approximately 62 amps. A standard 12 volt supply with that much current capacity will cost much more than a computer power supply. Look for a computer power supply that is 70 or more amps on a single 12 volt rail.

Newegg.com or Amazon usually have the best prices, but there are many places you can buy a power supply. If you are not in a hurry, you can probably find one on sale fairly cheap.
