Old iron
« on: November 25, 2013, »
One of my neighbors dropped by last week and gave me his old iron and said he hoped I could put to some use with all my 'Christmas light plans'.

I especially like the wooden handle.

Might bring some memories back for a few of you ...

What I'd like to know is which came first, the soldering iron or the soldering iron Heathkit. :)

Health kit is one of the reason I choose the DIY route.  I loved build Heathkits when I was young.

Did you put it on the stove to get more heat out of the iron?

Well, no, but the stove is the only clear counter space that I could find to take a picture ... wife has been away for a week :)
