I was going to change my led tomato cage mini trees to RGB mini trees but I found I just couldn't get the right shape/look I wanted using the tomato cages.  It also didn't make sense money wise for the way I was using the mini trees.  I ended up making some coro rgb mini trees with square models inside of them and happy overall.

Neat idea to use as ghosts!!

As for the top of the tree - I just grabbed the electrical tape and fixed the top. Now to get some nodes on this and see what happens.

Hmmmmmm.  18nodes...guess I'm gonna need me a second SSC for this tree.

I'll start getting serious on this build...at this pace it will be show time and I'll only have 5 strips of nodes attached :)

5 of the 9 branches connected. Found that I'll need to make a couple of extensions between the branches as the space between nodes doesn't let me join them at the bottom. Looks like I'll have two spaces on one set of four branches and a single space on the other 5 to connect. I can't wait to see what nutcracker effects might look like on this, but for now here are two branches lit up with a simple rgb-all test going

Hmmmmm.  If I ever want to get fancy with wire frames maybe I'll invest in that tool. My dad is a body man by trade and has some talent at welding but not sure he did many mini trees in his past. Maybe pounding out a quarter panel is the same as bending a wire frame :)

Ok. I just have the one strip to solder together and get the proper start channels on the SSCs but otherwise it's all good to go.

Needs some work - 176 nodes in total which isn't very symmetrical and adds to the challenge. Sean needs to have trees have non similar number of nodes per branch. Ill add that to a feature request in nutcracker. Or do I make a custom module ? Or does it not matter for trees at all?

Attached is a crude layout of the node configuration for my tree. Is there a better way in nutcracker/xlights to lay this out other than using a 270 tree? I simply put 9 strands of 20 nodes because I don't really have symmetry in the design.

Here is my model...

Ideally I'd have 9 strings of 19 nodes I suppose and then all the channels would align.

However in my case I don't have the same number of nodes on each branch.

1-22
2-21
3-21
4-19
5-18
6-19
7-18
8-18
9-20

The above table is really what I have on the tree.

Can I change the individual start channels and keep it at 20 nodes,or does it really not matter (assuming I don't over lap channels beyond the 176 nodes I have)...if that makes sense? BTW It's early and no coffee so I can see how this post is confusing :)

Do you have any pics or vids of these new "ghost" trees?
