Query USB Dongle

Technical Question, is it possible to query the USB Dongel to get firmware info like if its DMX or PixelNet, Version of firmware. trying to make my console program a little easier for the users and smarter also?

the dongle is one way communication. i believe the only info you get is the identification info from the usb socket for the purpose of setting up communication, but the rest of the dongle is output only.
