anyone ever use this?

has anyone use either the "mega tree hook head" or "the standard hook head" from christmas light show.com ? if so, how many hooks are on it?

Looks like 16 hooks.   I did read on their sight that you supposedly can hang up to 4 loops from each hook.   and  then have one or more string of lights per loop.   

I've been thinking about that topper also.

I have it and it does indeed have 16 hooks.  They are preatty sturdy and in December we will find out if each hook can hold 9 strands of light each (one strand each of red, green and blue braided together times three for each slice/hook).  <yk..

I made my own, but modeled it after theirs.  When it came time to attach the light strands, I used a piece of nylon and tied it to each string and tied that to the hook.

I too made my own from an empty wire spool (plastic).  Last year I had my topper attached too, but this year ....

I built one the same as his and they work great.  If you need a boat winch Northern tool has them on sale.
