Title: Minleon Express is avaliable
Post by: RJ on October 07, 2013,
As agreed I promised to post when Minleon made their version of the express avaliable.

It is now for sale :

http://minleonusa.com/shop/

It is an express and works exactly like the Lynx Express with the one difference that it is pre manufacted and does not have the connector for the EX/RX. It is all surface mounted. Please remember as agreed all support for the commerical product will be done off of DLA and by Minleon.

Thanks

RJ

The new product looks good, and it is a decent price.

Yes, congrats RJ.  I'm glad you posted this - I actually stumbled on the order page for the commercial express yesterday and thought to myself "someone stole RJ's design!"

I'm glad this was sanctioned :)

Congratulations RJ.

If someone happens to have their email address and could email them to tell them their contact us is broken, one might be able to get some support and ask a question.

I ordered a couple enclosures to check them out. In the midst of sorting thru some shopping cart issues, two email addresses looked useful, and got me response/resolution: minleonusa AT live.com, and eventsdonebright AT hotmail.com.

And I forgot to mention the contact-us was broken...noticed that also.

It's nice to see a pre-made controller at a reasonable price, compared to the other stuff out there. *cough* Light *cough* -O- *cough* Rama.

Yes it is another good option avaliable for those that either so not want to build or until we get the no longer avaliable part issue resolved can't get one built. I hope to have this resolved soon for us hard core DIY'ers

If you can't find one, perhaps this could become an introduction to SMD since this chip is still available in that format and installing a single component would be much easier than doing them all like the original Aether had.  Lets face i, soon we will all have to learn how to do it or give up on DIY builds since everything seems to be going that way with electronic components.

There will still be Coops. Unlikely before Christmas, though. People are getting busy.

Do these include a case or do you have to get the $99 controller and then the case separately?

RJ

I wish I had read this BEFORE I purchased 2 of these last week!  I'm a green rookie to all of this, partially-disabled with early Parkinson's and can't solder anymore.  This looked like such a sweet solution.  I assume (like all other controllers) these have to be programmed and configured?  Minleon does not post these files anywhere.  I ordered last week; never got a confirmation of purchase, never got shipping verification (till a guy named Ron finally emailed me back from his cell phone) and NEVER got a tracking#...it did show up Friday, glad I happened to be home to receive it.

The 2 boards had pigtails attached, but the polarity is backwards on some of them (never got an answer back if I should be concerned with this).  They were rolled up in plain used bubble wrap, no anti-static bag or box.  The heatsinks have grooves and scratches all over them, like they were test units or something.  Oh, and I read somewhere that shipping price was ridiculous ($40.00+) because they come from China...they came from PA, and shipping to Al. should have been around 12 bucks.  I order stuff from China all the time.

My new buddy (whom I have not met yet)) jnealand has invited me over too his house when I visit my daughter in Ga in a couple weeks.  I'm going to impose on his experience (if he will) to assess the condition of these boards...I worry that the cold weather and poor packing may have zapped something.  Sorry to vent, I'm just floored that a so-called "commercial" product has this lack of professionalism and support.  Hope I can get support here if needed

No need to worry about the backwards polarity on the pigtails.  As a commercial product, I would expect that they are already programmed and configured to start on channel 1; the only thing you may want to change is the start channel.
