Title: 1 Odd Node
Post by: lboucher on July 23, 2011,
Hi All

Got my 5 strings up and running, generally its all working very well.
I had 2 strings that needed the 150 ohm resistor.

Then I noticed 1 node with some odd behavior.

Here is my setup.

5 strings set up, each with string having there own set of channels
Using Vixen to control
Use the channel test feature and do a select all
They all come on
Do an unselect all
They all go off except the last light on the forth string. Sometimes its white, sometimes its red.
If I hit unselect again, it goes off.

This doesn't happen every time, maybe 60% of the time.
If i twiddle the specific channels for that node by themselves, they appear to go on and off like normal.

This doesn't effect the actual running of sequences expect if i do an all on and then all off. Seems like if something else changes after that off, the data is resent and the node responds appropriately.

All in all I am not to worried about bugging Ray about 1 malfunctioning node.

But, RJ, if you want me to send this node to you for debugging let me know.
Anybody else seen this?

Did you try the 150ohm resister fix that has been discussed in the other thread? I am by no means an expert but logically the data power may not be sufficient on that string to make it all the way to the end and causing that, so raising the power might fix it.

Hadn't tried that because the symptoms seemed different, but i will give it a try and report back.

Yep that fixed it, probably should have tried that before posting.
