Downloaded, installed and verified !!!
There is now a specific driver choice labeled "Lynx" (along with Raw and ENTTEC Pro)
It no longer skips the first channel assigned, behaving perfectly !!
They also said they improved the performance of the Pro DMX dongles. I'll assume that meant a reduction in CPU usage but I can't really verify that yet. I ran 96 DMX channels for Halloween on an ENTTEC Open dongle using the RAW option and never saw any serious CPU usage anyway.
Still no E1.31 or Etherdongle support. But since I have 4 Lynx dongles, I will have no problem with multiple universes this season.

Thanks for the update! ;D

I have been working with Bob on this for a few weeks. LOR has a Lynx Dongle in their possession now and added support for it. I have been testing it since Bob got the dongle and have not seen a single issue with it. ;)

I doubt we will see this for LOR, and if we do, it will be for backwards compatibility only.

I am glad there was collaboration and adding supports for Lynx DMX dongle.
Hoping there is continuing collaboration to add support for E1.31 and maybe support for etherdongle,
Thanks for all your hard work with Bob!

I still can not get LOR S3 to see the Lynx dongle. When I open Network Preferences and open the drop down window under DMX Universe it shows DP83L8VC in the Adapter and have the Protocol set as Lyn x. When I use this combo a small text window keeps popping in and out as if it's trying to send out DMX signal. This Signal prevents me from doing anything else in LOR S3.
My Setup:
LOR S3 3.1.2
Lynx Dongle V2
Cat 5 cable
Lynx Express V5

Under network preferences make sure the comm port number for LOR networks is not the same as the DMX comm port number.
Either make LOR Comm port NONE or another valid Comm number you are using for your show.

That small popup may be reminding you that you don't have the LOR Control Panel open. If you use any DMX dongle, you must open the Control Panel before opening the Sequencer.
and - the DMX settings never ask which COM Port. They display the unique ID built into each FTDI chip running the Dongles. The computer won't let two devices have the same COM Port.

Got it to work working on it seeing the other controllers now. Thanks Guys...

Just playing around with LOR and the lynx dongle. I ran a sequence and it worked fine.
I have a question though. Are you still able to use the control panel and test channels/lights?
I can't seem to find a way to make this work.
I keep getting error messages.
Thanks

xLights is your friend for this. I could not get the LOR test utility to work with any regular DMX dongle.
-
Thanks Jeff.
Time to start playing with x-lights.
Good thing I am self employed, this blinky flashy thing is hard work. <fp.

Sorry for the hijack here , but I am also trying to get Lor to output DMX to the lynx dongle .
Question ,Do you that have it working have the advanced version of LOR S3 ? I read somewhere that the advanced version of lor software is required to output dmx. I asked this question on the lor forum but didn't get a definite answer.
Thanks (edit) I have the Basic +
-
My thought is because DMX gives you 512 channels that it will require an advanced license.
-
LOR uses non standard wires for DMX (3,4 vs 1,2) so-o wouldn't you still need to use a LOR to DMX adaptor cable of using the LOR adaptor? I used s3 and xlights
-
If you are referring to the USB485B type adapter yes. You need a modified cable to communicate with a DMX device like a LE. To communicate with a LOR board then a regular network cable with do.

I am guessing you have the advanced license?
-
Yes I do have the advanced.
