Newegg has a 430W power supply on sale this weekend with a final price of $19.99.  12V rail is good for 32 amps.

Thanks for posting.  Love these deals.  Used a Corsair from the same line and worked great.

1,078 nodes right?  (32a * 12v = 384w / .356w = 1,078.65)

i get 882 nodes...
32A * 80% (safe limit)  25.6A@12V
25.6A / .029A  (ss nodes are listed in wiki as 29mA)  = 882 nodes

for 90% full load i get 993 nodes

Thanks Chris, forgot the 80% rule...

The 80% rule is based on continuous power output.  Unless you are intending to keep the lights on all of the time, you can exceed 80% max power output wihout much difficulty or issues.

I suspected that.  Glad to get a confirmation cause I snagged it.

When ever I'm looking for computer equipment, I always check out

http://www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com)

For example, I saw this post, jumped over there under power supplies and found a 550W PS for $21.99:

http://3btech.net/24pinch550wa.html (http://3btech.net/24pinch550wa.html)

DC Output    +3.3v    +5V      +12V    -12V      +5VSB
Max                      22A    28A       28A     1 A       2.0A
Min                       0.5    0.5A       0.4A     0A       0A

Granted, this one is not as high powered, nor as good a deal, as the one listed on newegg, but its a good place to go shopping for computer equipment
(like if you want to build a computer to run your show!)

Be sure to check out the stats before you jump.  Sometimes the high wattage is due to having more amps available on the 3.3V or the +5V connections
as well as some only have one four pin molex connector.
