Programming Ray's 10W DMX flood
« on: November 24, 2013, »
Does anyone know how to program the default light sequence on Ray's
10w DMX flood lights?   This is the light sequence it runs when
no DMX signal is present.    I had Ray program the DMX address
for me but I was not aware of this option.

what do you think of the flood light?  Did not notice them soon enough in my order to toss one in to play with, but I am thinking I would like 3-5 similiar lights for next years show up under the fascia and maybe in a tree pointing down at the ground.

I really like them.   They are bright and compact.   Nice mounting bracket.
I plan to buy more next year.    I have only compared them to the flood
from holidaycoro.com though others have compared them to the Aether.
The only issue is programming the DMX.   You need a special programmer
from Ray to do this.

for the price and convenience they are great.  I have 3 that I used for Halloween, and I can pull out when needed.
I have 16 aethers, and the aethers are much brighter  >.d9  and the aethers are my first choice for Christmas.

but the cost (~$24), the fact they are preassembled and waterproof makes them a great choice.

I alter them, btw.  I replace the 3-pin XLR connectors and dangling power cable with a pair of rj45 pigtails, and run power with dmx over the cat5.

I did get ahold of a programmer which I used to change the channel assignments.  I did not have any info about changing the test sequence.

Here is the programmer:
