I wanted to use xLights for my Halloween show, however, when I created the show and attempted to run the show, it seemed like the audio would stall/not load into the player correctly.  I attempted attaching the sequences to both MP3 and WAV versions of the audio.

However when I use the show feature on Vixen, the audio plays.  Any ideas on what's going on?

Did you put the audio in the same folder as the vixen sequence files for xlights to use?

Yes, both the audio files and Vixen files were in the same folder.

What about the profile file if you are using one?  Is that in the same folder for xLights?

Lineman:  Got your message.  My sequences are already at 50 ms.

Dean:  The profile files are not in the same folder.  I will give that a try.  I thought xLights only needed the media and sequence files to work?

I can't remember to be honest but who knows.  xLights is missing something obviously so it's worth a shot.  Shouldn't make a different with audio though in reality.

The Vixen profile file has not been required by xLights. However, starting with version 2011c (coming soon), if you use a Vixen profile, you will be required to copy it into your xLights directory.

If you are having problems with the audio, what happens when you are on the playlist tab, select a row by clicking on the row number, then click the "Play item" button?

Also, what version of Windows are you using?

I am having a similar issue.  I am running Windows XP, with xLights version 2011c.  I have 5 media files that are all mp3s, as are all that just will not open or play in xLights.  All 17 of my other media files work seemlessly.  These are all songs from Sufjan Stevens that I bought the CD set online and downloaded the Zip file.  The music works in Vixen, Windows Media Player and iTunes just fine for me but just will not play nice in xLights.

All of the other songs I have are from CDs that I copied in with exception to two that were in my iTunes Library.  Again, they are all working seemlessly.  If anyone has any ideas I would love to not see the 2 Hours per song of sequencing watsed this year.

Thanks,

Corey

Matt-

My computer has Windows XP.

When I select an item in the playlist and play the item, the Xlights/Windows Media player window opens with the lovely message of "An Unknown Error has Occurred."  I've re-installed Windows Media Player as I thought that was the issue, but it didn't help.

Wonder if its the sample rate. Compare a working mp3 with a nonworking mp3 and see if they are different.

I've tried WAV, MP3, and Windows Media versions of the audio.  The sample rates are 44100, 128K, and 96K repectively.

Interesting...  I know I have a mixture of MP3 and WAV files.  I'm listening to my show right now through a radio and this one MP3 sounds like it's skipping with this new version.  Strange.  Toying with going back to the previous version to see if that changes anything.
