A few weeks ago I got to go over to the Zman's house to learn how to build wire frames. He helped me build a 3D star for my mega tree, and he taught me how to weld. :)
The other day, I decided I wanted to do another wire frame project. I have always wanted some big holly leaves! So I drew up a pattern, and stopped by the local steel yard. I headed down to my Dad's house to use his welder (even though he doesn't know how to weld either :) ). My welding wasn't the prettiest, but after about 1/2 hour with the grinder, and a little paint, I think they turned out pretty good!
Lessons I learned: Welding can cause sun burns!........... 8)

Sorry the pictures are blurry :(

Man - really gotta talk the significant other into me getting a welder next year... Nice Job!

Kyle (with a little "k" ;D)... fantastic! You can't get much more christmas-y than that.
Hard to tell... what did you light them with?

Very Nice! yes long sleeves and a heavy type shirt is highly recommended when welding.

I really like those.
I did a wire frame star for the topper on my mega tree this year myself, but I just did it. >:( I need to learn how you are supposed to make wire frames and do a nice one for next year. ;D

Very nice...giant snowflakes are also a easy fun project. All straight 1/4" steel rod.
Here are a couple I did.

I like the snow flakes! That might be something I have to add next year!
You can't really tell with my blurry pictures, but I used led minis for my lights. They look much brighter in person.
