Virtual Santa

Thinking of doing a virtual santa set-up. Would a twenty thousand(20,000)ansi lumen projector be too bright to use for an eight foot window?  George

20,000 or 2,000 lumens?  A 20,000 lumen projector would be overkill and around $70k.  A 2000 lumen projector would work if you control the ambient light in the room and on the "screen"

Wow!  That will be one bright Santa! I've used 2500 to 5000 lumen projectors for architectural projection (walls, carpet, windows, etc) with great results inside.  FYI a "frosty" shower curtain makes a great rear projection screen.  I'd love to see pics when you get it working.

Make sure that it is working and that the bulb is not at the end of its life.  You will be shocked at the price of that bulb.

It's brand new, but my impulse is subsiding and I'm thinking it may be overkill for its purpose, but I think I might still be susceptible to persuasion!  <;d  Anyone?

uh..hum,  this is almost the size we use for the castle projection show at Disney! I'm sure it will be a GREAT looking  santa..on the neighbors house...3 blocks away!

BTW, how do you cool it?

I think it is liquid cooled, my concern is that it will be too bright and outshine my display?

It would be way to bright for your current idea but it would probably do some amazing things for whole house projection.

Thanks, I didn't buy it. Looking at a 2,500 lumen projector that costs the same price instead.
