Auto-sequencing program
« on: February 12, 2012, »
Has anyone used a sequencing program that will automatically sync lights to music?  I'm planning on setting up some lights for my fourth of July party this year and thought it would be interesting to have em flashing to music all night.  I'm not looking for intricate sequences....just some basic stuff.  I figured there might be a program that you could have running in the background while playing music on your computer, and will send dmx out to your devices, kind of like the visualizer in media player or iTunes.  That way I don't have to sequence 90 songs on vixen for a 6 hr party lol.  Thanks everyone.

First show, 2011: 48 channels (ssr4's, lynx express, MR16), sequenced with Vixen, using 5000 led and incandescent lights

I know someone here at DLA was working on something that will do that, however,I don't think it's ready yet.

Madrix will do what you want, it has several music to light effects. I will look for Brad Boyink of Computerized lightings videos on you tube for you. George

Depends on who you are. It's only a few thousand dollars for the works.  <fp.

I found a Winamp plugin a few years ago that used some of the visualization stuff mapped to light channels - You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login that discussed some more recent stuff.  Shouldn't be too hard to make it speak DMX, might be some pretty cool stuff that can be done with it.

Are you a professional dancer?  that would bring into question your use of this DLA hardware.  ;)

I've seen some pretty amazing Madrix demos.  Its esp. powerful with a matrix or doing superstar lights type stuff on a pro scale.  I just wish they offered a truly lower level product for our hobby ... because even their discounted line is like $800 or something.  And then there is LOR superstar ... which again is priced fairly sky high since its based on # of channels and requires LOR.

i'd like something that would even act like a visual plugin for windows media player, and i could map channels to frequency ranges

Chris -

Have you tried the analog frequency spectrum plug-in in Vixen?
