the aluminum stakes are almost all the way in the ground (about an inch away from the curved part)
the tree is around 12-14 ft tall.  base, i'm not sure of (the nodes don't go all the way to the ground) (standard smart strings, each string is 40 nodes long)
taut, they are THE guy wires of the tree. there is nothing else holding the mast up.

How long are your stakes? Are they round rods, or the "triangular" type? What kind of angle are they at?

Found them in walmart

fairly cheap, in the outdoors / tents aisle.

i'd say i put them in about a 30-45 degree angle from vertical.

What about using that green floral wire to attach them to the chords rather than a million zip ties? Just am idea.

The problem with floral wire is that it tends to rust after a while and depending on the type, if you get carried away cranking it down it can cut into the nodes wires.
If at first you don't succeed,
your not cut out for sky diving
