Help troubleshooting SSCs
« on: October 06, 2011, »
Hello all,

I need some assistance with trying to troubleshoot two of my SSCs.  I just went through and loaded the standard firmware and tryed to program 12 SSCs.  two of these SSCs did not respond to the SS utility programing attempt( i.e. they did not "flash"). I checked jumpers, reloaded the test firmware and tried programming multiple times.  All to no avail...

The 10 successful units were programmed on the same PC->dongle->hub configuration without issue so the problem is isolated to these two SSCs

I have attached a couple quick pictures of the boards in questions.

Thanks in Advance!

Frank

Hi Frank,

Take a pic from a working SSC and put it in the non-working SSC. If that works then you know the board is working. Then we have to check the pic and ICSP for the problem.

If it doesn't work then either a part is in the wrong location or the board is not getting power

I beleive you have your data lines, the orange wires reversed.
The pattern is solid color, striped, solid color.
Review the list on step 16 in the manual:

Good call mr christmas!  I'll need to go home and confirm but indeed those data lines look crossed.

Thanks,
