JEC-RGB pixles and Power Injectors
« on: March 06, 2010, »
Hello Forum

I was watching a video on setting up the Lynx Dongle. There were 2 Items that were used in the testing. A RGB-Pixel and also a Power injector for a 12v supply.

The video is located here if you care to look at what I am speaking about.

My question is where do you buy these 2 Items  or is there a new setup that has replaced them? ???

Thanks for any help in advance ;)

Neil:

In his video, Bill just used the RGB Pixel (and its associated power injector) as a test-bed for the dongle -- you can use any DMX device to check that the dongle is working.

It is something of a chicken-and-egg conundrum though -- if you've built a Lynx Express, for example, and a Lynx Dongle and haven't tested either against a known working device and they don't work, you will have a difficult time figuring out which is the broke one.

If you really want an RGB Pixel, they're at

Though just looking around, it appears John doesn't have any to sell right now.

Thanks for the info, \dmc

I am new to all this and just was looking for some hardware to verify the circuits are working after a build. ;)

If anyone has a better way, drop me a line :P

take care, and thank you ;D

Try this link. I built a similar one to test output from my dongle. Wont show you channel activity just that dongle has DMX output.

Thanks Lineman and Garyi

You know just a little info helps to get over humps you can run into.
I am building a Dongle right now and I just wanted a easy test platform after the solder cools :P

I take a few notes from these answers and it always helps.

Thanks,  both answers helped allot, I can get a quick software look " I GOTTA READ A LITTLE MORE ON VIXEN"and also have a little hardware tool too ;D

Take care All
