« on: January 23, 2013, »
Hey all-

Been doing this for 4 years now, but this is the first time we have taken any video.  I just uploaded all nine sequences to youtube- here's links if anyone wants to see them. Hope you enjoy! Any feedback is appreciated.

Curious about hardware, software, all the nuts and bolts of putting it on.  Lots and lots of channels?  Your arches looked very fluid, didn't notice they were in segments like 5 or 8, if they were, you did a great job sequencing them.

Thanks everyone!
I am running xLights outputting DMX. Everyting was sequenced in Vixen. All lights on the house and arches are running off Expresses. Just shy of 100 channels overall. Each luminary and floodlight is RGB and each has it's own 3 channel DMX controller.
The arches each have 8 segments of 50 white LEDs. The same white LEDs were used to make the "Tune to" sign you see flashing at the beginning of every song.
I think I have hit the limit of what my show computer is capable of. In a few songs, you can see slight lag or stuttering of the lights. It's an old HP computer, must have bought it 10 or 12 years ago. I'm debating on whether I want to upgrade the computer, or just build the conductor for next year. I'm leaning toward upgrading the computer, because I like being able to make changes to scheduling and sequences from INSIDE the house.

Very nice job. Your sequencing is awesome as I would have thought the arches were smart strings or flexstrips. You attention to detail in doing the arches is unbelievable.
