Low voltage or LED lighting for a snow village
« on: November 17, 2011, »
My snow village has grown this year to the point where I am not happy to be plugging in 25 or so different 110VAC plugs into extension cords, power strips, etc.  Dept 56 has a low voltage device but it is too pricey for my blood.  I was thinking about coming up with a low voltage system utilizing LED's and some sort of transformer and/or resister combination to get the required volatge.  Has anyone done something like this or have any suggestions to help me move forward?

I would go with led. You could even make it solar powered.

Greetings,,,

With some close together buildings, I've used a led string with parts of it in several.  You might make short extensions between string parts.
