I shutdown my show yesterday and started to take down my megatree. The problem is that I am already looking into ordering a ton of rgb LED's from Ray and its not even 2012 yet. How about you guys? Anyone else have the same issues? I am going to be broke all year now. I need way too many things. RGB smart strings, etherdongle, singing pumpkins, singing trees... ahh soo much to do!

the best advice i can give, is set a realistic goal of what you can add this year, and get it in stages (unless you can afford it all at once)

also, make sure you have it set to get notified of new coops, and get in early on coops of equipment you need.

Suggestion: do it in stages.

This year I overreached and tried to get it all working in the house before setting up anything outdoors.  I ended up being 2 weeks late from my original plan of thanksgiving, and the sequences never satisfied me.

But I certainly understand the eagerness -- after touring Houston and Dallas area lights, and looking at Youtube more -- I get excited by the possibilities and I'm about to do the same thing all over again.

This is my first year and im hooked all ready , yesterday went and bought all the lights i could from every store i could get them from from 3 diffrent towns, and ive have two weeks off. ive been building away, i have built 5 tombstones, my arch, started on my mini trees and well thinking about whats next. LOL, I even cleared out my garage to make room so when its raining i have a space to work.

PK and I are trying to figure out what all we "need" for next year, and I told him, it would depend on how we did with the day after Christmas sales.  Well, we did alright, we got enough lights for 2 basic mega trees, a candy cane project, roof line lights, arches, and who knows what else.  I figured out today I'm going to need 6 LEs to do everything on my list.  This year's show (my first as a DIY'er) was 25 channels. 

Don't even get me started about my ideas for Halloween!  Although, they're not nearly as ambitious as my/our Christmas projects, it's safe to say we'll be busy for awhile!

Yeah, I think it's safe to say we're addicted!

Ya know, it's not just having RJ as our pusher, in the last 7 days it is more like RJ is the head Vampire, and the rest of you guys had been bitten, and are spreading the affliction to the rest of the world.

It took me less that 4 hours, while sitting in a hotel room in Amsterdam when I signed up to DYA, to be hooked (-sorry, afflicted).

AND EACH ONE OF YOU have posted so much information (a lot WAY over my head), I do not think I will be ever able read it.

I actually can not wait to make a mistake (helps me learn faster)
