Smart String Node Testing
« on: September 22, 2012, »
I have 128 Smart Strings and am having issues getting them to work.  My flex strips are working fine.

Installed test firmware.  Only the first ~10 nodes cycle through the colors.  The next large group are light blue and green and the last group is all white.   If I test using the program jumper set to on, they are all white.

After flashing the pic back to normal, I cannot get any out from the USB pixelnet dongle using the color picker.  I tested other rectangle modules and color picker works fine.  I also am unable to program the ssc.  When I press transmit, nothing happens.  When I connect the smart strings to the controller, they briefly flash on which is what all my other RGBs do too.

Any suggestions?  I am using v1 of the SSC and not sure what resister.  Should I just go with the v2 SSC?

See new ssc firmware post from RJ.
The fix requires a minor mod to ssc hardware

Remember that SS nodes and flexstrips use a different wiring color code.  Just a thought.
