Newbie Needs Help
« on: September 30, 2010, »
I have been lurching around here for 6 Mo. & after the first of the year I am going to take the plunge. What I need to know is what I will need to run a show. ( include everything needed)

I currently run 64 Ch. of LOR all lights are 110 volts NO DC or LED at this time. I may add a DC controller next year with the change to run s few of the flood lights.

         Thanks for the help.

                  Mike

You need a Lynx Dongle and Lynx Express to straight up replace what you have (WIKI has all the info on them).  DC you have a FEW options and I would recommend the 3 Channel DMX units - PERFECT for Floods.

Download Vixen and start playing with the programming since you will need that or LSP.  Vixen can be found on doityourselfchristmas.com.  LSP has a demo download that you can play with as well.

And remember, you can use your LOR controllers with DMX, so if you wanted to start with a DMX dongle, keep using your current LOR controllers, and add to them with DIY controllers like the MR16-DC controller or others available here, you can!

DOn't hesitate to ask questions, since there are lots of helpful folks willing to answer them!
