Another Flexstrip Question
« on: November 23, 2012, »
Hi.  I have another flexstrip question.  Sorry about all the questions but I don't want to make a mistake and buy the wrong lights!

Under the wiki I see these lights linked:
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

To Canada these will cost $42 + $21.25 shipping for 4m.

I was looking at these:
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

These look to be the same from what I can tell but will cost $30 with free shipping.

Are the 2nd ones any good?  They are smart strings right?  Can they be controlled with RJ's equipment?

Thanks for the help!

The short answer is no, these are not smart strings and will not work.  The best option is to purchase the ones that are listed on the wiki.  If you place a larger order, you can contact Ray directly and he can combine shipping costs.  That may lower the cost some.

Those are dumb strings. They will work with the dumb string controller, but the whole string will always does the same thing.

The smartstring controller was designed for the nodes in the wiki.

There are many different types of led strings out there that are not compatible.

Best bet - stick with wiki.
