Soldering Station question
« on: July 12, 2010, »
Does anyone use a Auyue 937 soldering station?    I was looking at the Weller WLC100 station and came across this one for around my price range ($50)   Just wondering if anyone has one and likes it.

Chris,
I bought that station when I ordered my first LEs. After I got some soldering guidance from RJ, it worked great and I didn't have any problems on my controllers.
Order some extra tips cause you can't go to the store and find them

Hope that helps,

John

Other than a different sticker on the front (mine says MPJA) and the push buttons instead of the knob to set temps it looks like mine so likely will be fine.

Heres what I am using :

This is my main tips :
15146-TL .8mm Chisel Tip
15148-TL 1.6mm Chisel Tip

15148 for normal stuff and the smaller for really small work.

Hope the info helps.

I'm in the process of updating my soldering station and thought of something similar, but then i got to thinking that there will be a lot more SMD soldering to do and I would like something that would also have a hot air gun for SMD as well as be ESD safe. So my choice looks like it will be the Aoyue 968 3 in 1 soldering station

Now this is from an Australian distributor but I'm sure you can get the same thing from the US, great value and it will help with doing those SMD projects that will now start being the norm for DIY
