how about a DLA DIY CNC site?
« on: June 22, 2012, »
I mentioned this in a different thread, I liked the idea and thought it might be good to put in its own thread.

I have been interested in cnc for a while, I have even built my own. There is so many things this kind of machine can do, and is already in the diy market. The only problem
is that it is not something that is geared toward light shows. I like the servo controller, and thing that this can be taken a lot further.

This is just a crazy idea.

But I had to share.

What you think?

I think CNCZone.com has it pretty well covered.

Yes I like cnczone. Just not geared to holiday lighting. I have some ideas that they don't get. Still my first stop when I have a problem.

Greetings,,,

The other site is set up for all the cnc topics.  But I am a bit curious about any idea as to specific light topics that might be useful with that type of machine.  Thinking about some coro cutting or such?

I am thinking about some animation, The haunt show n tell got me thinking. However it's a little more complicated than motor, or servo controlled. Having played around with cnc, I figure it may be adaptable. I have also been looking at some motion controllers, and some remote puppetry. I am trying to figure out how to controll about 14 movements.
