PURCHASING DUMB STRINGS
« on: October 23, 2012, »
Does anyone know where you can purchase dumb strings (IP68 DC12V) like from E-BAY or some other source where you don't pay double price to cover shipping?  I have seen dumb strings on E-BAY but they are not individual nodes.

The thing to keep in mind is that Ray will not charge $25 in shipping for every string.  If you tell him what you want and have him give you a combined shipping quote ... it will always be better than you'll get using the website directly.  It seems that most orders max out on shipping and then it becomes more reasonable, esp. on larger orders.  But buying one string, yeah, the shipping is lousy.  But buy 10 strings and it'ls really not bad, esp. when you have him quote it for you.

+1 for never going to the aliexpress site and just clicking to order like it was Amazon. Always decide what you want then let Ray know and he will send you a custom quote which combines in shipping and such.

+1 Email him for a quote and shipping is reasonable on multiple items.  Grab a few from Holiday coro if you need to check em out.

Thanks for that catch. Ken did say he was looking for strings....I have no use for them, so my eyes automatically gravitate to the 5050 strips.
